Founder’s Background

Mohan began his career as a software engineer at Ellucian, the world’s leading provider of Student Information Systems. Transitioning from engineering to investment, he has played a pivotal role as a founding member of three rapidly growing software companies. Over the past eight years, these companies have collectively generated over $2 billion in value and continue to expand.

In 2021, Mohan invested his entire net worth into Embrace with the aim of creating the first technology and product-centric acquirer of SMB software. Supported by like-minded entrepreneurs and investors, Embrace is now set to become a home for software businesses where product rewrites and R&D investments are valued as highly as operational efficiencies.

Since joining Embrace through the AQ2 acquisition, I’ve witnessed AQ2 flourish, using the Embrace Operating Playbook. AQ2 has doubled our growth rate every year since acquisition and I oversee 3 companies within Embrace’s Finance Group.

Collaborating for Success

When EPOWERdoc joined Embrace in 2021, there was a lot of uncertainty and much trepidation. Our first full company interaction as a company with Mohan (Embrace’ CEO) was during a company holiday party in Jacksonville where he shared how Embrace’s collaborative growth strategy works and his vision for our team. His willingness to engage in open dialogue and straightforward communication was a great step toward alleviating the skepticism.

Since then, EPOWERdoc has maintained its independence, growing on its own terms with the support of the Embrace team. Embrace has also been really open to learning from us about the unique aspects of the Emergency Department EHR as well as providing us with resources to achieve our goals and help standardize our practices. Some key areas of assistance have been in operational best practices, agile development, augmenting US R&D teams with offshore teams and helping us build up our tech and leadership teams for the next phase of EPOWERdoc’s journey.
